Safeguarding Policy

Berwick Bowling Club has always regarded the safeguarding policy requirements of all members and the visiting public,  whether visiting bowlers or those using the club facilities, as a matter of the highest priority.

The Club has a nominated and accredited Wellbeing and Protection Officer (see the Officials website page) and there are policies in place for regulating the conduct of all members and visitors whenever they are within the club premises.

The Club is affiliated to Bowls Scotland and within our Constitution we have wide-ranging objectives to abide by their rules and also to ensure there is no discrimination within the Club of any description which is confirmed by clause 2.1 of the Constitution (see the Constitution web page).

In addition, when children are being coached, this is controlled by a qualified DBS Child Barred Check whenever they are within the club premises.  This is an English qualification, as the club is situated in England and therefore requires compliance with English legislation.
